The keyboard is a necessary device for entering characters. If you can use its virtual analogue with a loaded operating system, then in some cases you cannot do without this component of the computer to enter the systems.

Instructions

Step 1

If you need to log on to a computer that does not have a password set for a user account, just start the computer as usual using the power button on the case.

Step 2

If your Windows user account has a login password set, try looking for any other keyboard. At the same time, if it is not your keyboard that is broken, but the PS / 2 input, it is best to find a printing device that connects using the USB interface, or try swapping the keyboard with the pointing device. At the same time, remember that PS / 2 devices are replaced when the computer is turned off, or even better, completely de-energized.

Step 3

Shut down the operating system. Unplug the computer from the power source, swap the mouse and keyboard devices. It is best to leave only the keyboard in the PS / 2 port.

Step 4

Turn on the computer, if the LEDs on the keyboard light up at the same time, it means that the problem was in the connection port. If it does not work, check the port with the mouse, making sure that it works exactly.

Step 5

If the problem lies precisely in a non-functional keyboard, and you can only log in when you enter a password, purchase a new printing device, ideally one that connects to your computer using a USB interface. Reconnecting such a device does not require rebooting or disconnecting the computer from the power source; its operation is always easier to check by connecting it to other USB ports on the computer. The same applies to mice - if you often have to unplug it from your computer and don't want to reboot the operating system again. Also, wireless devices with a USB interface are quite convenient, this applies not only to mice and keyboards, but also to other equipment, for example, printers, scanners and MFPs.
