Windows operating systems have features that allow you to restore them to their previous state in order to correct errors that have occurred. When working with a mobile computer, there are several options for recovering the OS.

Step 1
Many laptops come with an operating system preinstalled. Some manufacturers specifically create a separate partition on the hard disk, where they place the backup OS archive. If you are dealing with a similar situation, run a system restore from an image.
Step 2
Insert the Windows boot disk into the laptop drive. When working with netbooks, you must use an external DVD-Rom. Turn on your mobile computer and open the boot menu. To do this, press the key indicated in the start window.

Select Internal / External DVD-Rom, depending on the type of drive you are using. Press the Enter key. After opening the operating system installer menu, click the "Advanced recovery options" link.
Step 4
In the next menu for selecting options, select "System Restore". Highlight your working copy of Windows and click Next. Check the box next to the "Restore from archive" function.
Step 5
Select a system image located on a specific partition on your hard drive. Click the Get Started button. Wait for the operations to complete. The laptop will then automatically restart.
Step 6
If you do not have a backup archive, use the automatically generated checkpoints. To do this, select the function "Restore the previous state of the system". Check the box next to Use Control Points. Click "Next".
Step 7
Select the appropriate archive based on the date it was created. Click the "Start" button and wait for the procedure to complete.
Step 8
If there is no bootable disk, try starting the safe mode of the operating system. To do this, press the F8 key after displaying the OS selection menu. Go to the system recovery menu using the control panel. Start this process using a backup archive or checkpoint.
