Step 1
Quite often, a hard drive failure is associated with a boot sector failure. This means that it is not possible to install an operating system on this device and use it as a primary storage device. Try connecting this hard drive as a secondary drive.

The main catch is that two internal drives cannot be connected to mobile computers at once. Purchase an external box that allows you to connect IDE or SATA hard drives to the USB port.
Step 3
Install the hard drive into the box and connect it to your mobile computer. Naturally, you need a different hard drive to install the operating system on.
Step 4
Internal drives of notebooks with SATA interface can be connected to stationary computers. To do this, remove the hard drive from the laptop case and remove the carriage. Be sure to remove the mounting bracket from the hard drive.
Step 5
Connect the drive to the motherboard of a desktop computer using a ribbon cable with SATA connectors. Turn on your computer. Wait for a while while the operating system detects the new drive.

Check the possibility of standard copying of information from the hard disk. Extract the files you want and format the device. If the hard drive is not available for work, install the Mount'n'Drive program. Start it up.
