It is recommended to use external DVD drives to install the Windows operating system on netbooks. If you are not able to use such a device, you must create a UBS-drive containing the archives of the installation files.

Instructions
Step 1
An installation flash drive can be made using the Windows command interpreter or special utilities. The second method is much more convenient, because does not require knowledge of the required commands. In addition, not every user has access to computer administrator accounts. Download the WinSetupFromUSB program archive.
Step 2
Unpack it into a separate folder to ensure stable operation of the utilities. Run the WinSetupFromUSB.exe file. Click the Boot Ice button to launch the corresponding utility. You will need it to create a boot sector on your flash drive or external hard drive.
Step 3
Expand the Destination Disk submenu and select the desired flash drive. If you want to install Windows from an external hard drive, create a new partition on it and select it. Click the Perform Format button.
Step 4
After starting the new dialog menu, select the USB-HDD mode item. Click the Next Step button and specify the file system into which the specified flash drive will be formatted. It is better to use the NTFS system when working with large cards.
Step 5
Press the Ok button and confirm the operations when the warning windows appear. Close the Boot Ice utility. Return to the WinSetupFromUSB program.
Step 6
Select the prepared partition or USB flash drive in the first menu. In the Add to USB disk submenu, highlight the required item: Windows XP or Vista / 7. Naturally, the choice depends on what operating system you plan to install.
Step 7
Specify the folder containing the files copied from the installation disc. You can just choose a drive letter if you didn't make a copy. Press the GO button and wait for the data copying to complete.
Step 8
Restart your computer and hold down the F8 key. Select USB-HDD from the menu that appears and wait for the Windows setup program to start.
