Horses are friendly and very helpful creatures, introduced in one of the latest updates to Minecraft. They can be used for world exploration and long distance travel.
Where are horses found?
Horses are much more elaborate than other mobs in the game. They can perform a number of actions - rearing up, thereby showing discontent, waving their tail, eating grass. These animals can only be found in the plains.
Plains are one of the most common biomes in the game. A biome in Minecraft is called natural zones that differ in landscape, climatic and other features.
The plain is a relatively flat surface with small hills covered with tall grass. It is very rare to find trees on the plains. Here you can find ponds and ravines, in some cases a canyon may come out to the surface, so you need to navigate the plains rather carefully. Due to the monotony of the terrain, attention is dulled and you can fall from a great height to the bottom of the canyon, which in most cases leads to death.
Finding horses in the plain is pretty easy. First, you need to go around this biome around the perimeter, if you did not find the animals you are looking for, start moving in a spiral, gradually decreasing the circles. If the power of your computer allows, set the video settings to a high rendering range, in addition, you can increase the sound level, since horses emit a characteristic whinnying, by which you can find them. If you did not find horses on this particular plain, do not be discouraged, find another biome and repeat the steps from the very beginning.
Horse taming
It is advisable to go in search of horses with a leash or saddle. The saddle can be found in various chests in abandoned mines, fortresses, treasuries or villages, you cannot make it yourself. A leash can be crafted with four strands and a slime unit. To do this, you need to put a slime unit in the central crafting (item creation) cell on the workbench, one thread at the bottom right and bottom left corners, and one more thread at the top and left of the slime. From one set of ingredients, you get two leashes, which will allow you to bring a couple of horses home and in the future, breed them with golden apples.
To tame a horse, you need to sit on it by clicking the right mouse button. Wild horses knock the player off several times, but if you are persistent enough, they end up being tamed. To steer a horse, you need a saddle. If you don't have one, use a leash. Note that the reins will break if you move more than ten blocks away from the horse, so be aware of the relative position at all times. With the help of a leash, a horse (and other animals and monsters) can be tied to a fence, just right-click on the fence block while holding the leash in your hands.
