Determining the IP address in the Internet connection properties
The IP address of the computer can be determined in the system properties. For example, in Windows 7, you need to go to the "Control Panel" through the "Start" menu and select the "Network and Sharing Center" shortcut. In the tab that opens, select the Internet connection icon. In a new window, you need to click on the "Details" button, after which another window will open, in which you need to find the line corresponding to the IP address.
Finding the IP address using the Windows ipconfig service
To determine the IP address of a computer, you can use the ipconfig service of the Windows operating system, which defines the IP protocol settings. To do this, you need to go to the command line. This can be done by pressing the Windows key + R key combination, which opens the Run tab. In the input field, enter the cmd command and press the Enter key. In the appeared black console window, you need to register the ipconfig command and press the Enter key again. After that, in the corresponding line, you can see the IP address of the computer.
Contacting the provider
You can also find out the IP address of your computer from your ISP. To do this, you need to call the subscriber center of the service company and name the mailing address at which Internet connection services are provided.
Types of IP addresses
When a computer is connected to the Internet, it is assigned an IP address. At the same time, it can be static, that is, it can remain unchanged, or dynamic - it can change with each new connection within the specified range of free IP addresses that the provider has at the time the computer is connected to it. It depends on the method of Internet connection, as well as on the type of services provided by the Internet provider.
