Today, the Windows 8 operating system is used almost everywhere, but when switching to this OS, many users encountered a number of problems, and one of the bottom is associated with shutting down the computer through the system itself.
With the release of Windows 8, many of the things you do to manage your system need to be done differently. Of course, this is primarily due to the new interface of the system. Now all the buttons are in different places, there is no toolbar, language bar and more. Some users have faced the problem of shutting down and restarting the computer, because even the Start menu now looks different and is in a different place.
The standard way to shut down your computer in Windows 8
In order for the user to be able to turn off or restart the personal computer, it is required to move the mouse cursor to the lower right corner of the screen and wait until the side menu with various icons appears (this panel now plays the role of the "Start" menu). Here you need to find the power on icon, under which it says "Settings" and click on the "Power off" image. After clicking, a special menu will open where you can select either "Turn off the computer" or "Restart".
Create a shortcut to shut down your PC
There is another way to shut down your computer. To do this, you need to create a special icon on the desktop that allows you to turn off the user's PC. To do this, open the desktop, right-click on an empty space and select "Create shortcut" in the context menu that appears. Next, you need to enter the special shutdown.exe -s -t 00 command and click the Next button. After that, you will need to provide a name for the shortcut and save it to your desktop.
After these simple manipulations, the shortcut for turning off the computer will be completely ready, and the need to perform a number of different actions will disappear. To disable it, just double-click on the icon. In order to make the label more visual, you can change its icon. This is done in the properties of the shortcut, which can be opened with the right mouse button. In the properties, you need to click on the "Change icon" button, after which the icon you like is selected and the changes are saved. The same icon can be pinned to the tiled interface of the Windows 8 operating system. To do this, right-click and select the appropriate item (“Pin to Start Menu”).
As a result, the user can take advantage of one of these tips. For example, spend a little time creating a shortcut, after which he will no longer need to go to the sidebar and go through all the points. Accordingly, the shutdown will take a minimum of time.
