Necessary

  • - operating system Windows Vista;
  • - Regedit software.

Instructions

Step 1

In this version of the Windows operating system, the option "Automatic detection of folder contents" has become active. Some users liked this innovation, while others were against it. To cancel this option, you need to make changes to the system registry.

Step 2

Access to the system registry is carried out using a special program that belongs to the class of registry editors. Open the Run window. To do this, click the "Start" menu and left-click on the element of the same name. Also, this window is launched by pressing the Win + R keyboard shortcut.

Step 3

In the applet that appears, navigate to an empty field and enter the command regedit (program name), then press the Enter key or the "OK" button. A registry editor window will appear in front of you. It is recommended that you create a backup before making any changes. To do this, click the top menu "File" and select the line "Export".

Step 4

In the window for saving the backup copy of the registry, put a full stop in the "Entire registry" checkbox, enter the file name and click the "Save" button. Now you can safely change the registry settings.

Step 5

In the left part of the program window, open the path HKEY_CURRENT_USER by clicking on the "+" sign. In the Software directory, open the Classes, Local Settings, Software, Microsoft, Windows, Shell directories. Inside the last directory, you need to create a Bags folder. To do this, right-click on it, select the "New" item, then the "Section" item. Replace "New Section # 1" with Bags and press Enter.

Step 6

Inside the newly created folder, you need to create an AllFolders directory, inside which there will be a Shell folder. Go to this folder and in the right part of the program window create a new string parameter with FolderType using the context menu. Double click on the new parameter, change the value to NotSpecified.
