In Windows 7, the Control Panel looks different from what it was in previous versions of the system. Select User Accounts and Family Safety. The control panel displays two sub-items: "add and remove user accounts" and "set parental controls for all users." But to change the system password, you need to select the main item.

Enter the current password, then twice the new password you want to set for the system. You can follow the tips on how to create the most secure password and also set a password hint. Please note that if you include capital letters in the password, then this is how you will need to enter it every time you log in to the system. In addition to one word, you can choose a passphrase.

Strong password tips include the following: The password must be at least eight characters long, not contain the company name or username and full word, and be significantly different from previous passwords. It is also worth adding numbers and signs to the letters. The last step is to confirm the password change. If you change your mind about changing it, then you can choose "cancel" or just close the window for changing the password.
Step 8
To password-protect your computer, use the combination Ctrl + alt="Image" + Delete. From the menu of five items that appears, select "lock computer". When entering the password, pay attention to the CapsLk button and make sure that it is not pressed.
