Instructions

Step 1

Plug one end of the stereo cable into the headphone jack on the cassette deck and the other into the microphone jack on your computer. Insert the cassette tape into the tape recorder.

Step 2

Open the Plus! Analog Recorder. Click Next when the Welcome page appears. After detecting audio devices, click Next again.

Step 3

Go to the Record your music section of Plus! Analog Recorder. Press the Record button and then press the play button on the cassette deck. Press the Stop button when finished recording.

Step 4

Go to the Review and name your tracks page. Enter the title of the song and the name of the artist. Then click the Next button.

Step 5

Go to the Save music tracks to this location section. Select any of the options you want to apply to the audio file. Click Next to save the audio track.

Step 6

In order to transfer music from an audio tape to a computer using Audacity, download and install it. Double-click the Audacity icon on your desktop to open the program.

Step 7

Click the Record button (red dot icon) in Audacity. Then press the play button on the cassette deck. Wait for the cassette to finish playing to the end. Click the Stop button (yellow square icon) in Audacity to stop recording. Press the stop button on the cassette deck.

Step 8

From the File menu, choose Export as MP3. Enter a name for the audio file, and then click the Save button to complete the transfer process.
