There are several ways to change the password set for accessing a computer or operating system. In some cases, you will need to enter the old password, in other situations you will not have to.

Let's start the process of removing protection from your computer from the very first password that may appear when you turn on the device. This password must be entered immediately after starting the computer, because it blocks access not only to the operating system, but also to the BIOS menu.

Let's say you know this password and want to change it. Press the Del button to enter BIOS. Enter the required password. Find the items Set Supervisor Password or Change Password. Hit Enter. Enter your old password. Enter the new password twice. Click the Save & Exit button.

Now consider a situation in which you do not know the given password. Turn off your computer. Remove the left wall of the system unit. Find a small battery shaped like a washer. It is located on the motherboard. Remove the battery from the slot.
