With its frequent change, the likelihood that someone can find out and use it is much lower than when you have one password that has not changed for months or even years. It's better to take a couple of minutes every few weeks to change your password than risk your personal files. This is especially true if this is your work computer, and you are its administrator.

Step 1
Click Start. Then go to the "Control Panel", where select the component "Accounts and Users". In the window that appears, select your administrator account, and then click on the "Change your password" component.

A window will appear where you can change the current password. In the top line of the window, enter your current password. Next, in the middle line, enter the new password. On the third line, re-enter your new password. At the very bottom line, enter a password hint. If you forget your password, you can always use it. For example, you use the name of your favorite poem as your password. Accordingly, in the prompt line, you need to enter what will give you the idea of your favorite poem. When all the lines are filled in, at the very bottom of the window, click "Change Password". After that, the password will be changed.

You can also change the administrator password using the command line. To do this, sequentially click "Start" - "All Programs" - "Standard" - "Command Line". At the command prompt, enter "net user user_name * / and your account name." Then enter the new password. Then you must restart your computer.
Step 4
If you do not change the password using the command line, you need to boot the computer in safe mode. To do this, press the F8 key continuously while turning on the computer. A menu of options for starting the operating system will appear, from which select "Safe Mode with Command Prompt". Wait for the operating system to load in Safe Mode. The boot process in this mode can be lengthy. When the operating system is loaded, on the working window you will see the inscription "Safe Mode". Further, the procedure is the same as in the previous case. After setting the new password, restart your computer and log in normally.
