Some personal computer users, working with an administrator account, want to change it (rename). This can be done, although it is not very simple.
The administrator of a personal computer is an account that allows the user (if he logged in from this particular account) to perform all manipulations with the computer. Other accounts have extremely limited options. For example, an administrator can set passwords for any accounts, install software without entering passwords, change various system parameters, etc.
Some users may experience various problems with this account. For example, one of the most popular is when any installed software refuses to work on the computer, referring to the fact that they "do not understand" the Russian name of the administrator. There is only one solution to this problem - to rename the folder, and therefore the account itself, but you will not be able to do this in the same way as with ordinary folders.
Method one
There are several ways to solve this impending problem. The first is that the user of the personal computer needs to create another account with administrator rights. In order to protect yourself, you need to make backup copies of files and folders to be replaced and renamed. After the copies are ready, you need to go under the created account and rename the administrator folder to any suitable name. Then, you need to go to the registry and follow the path - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE / SOFTWARE / Microsoft / Windows NT / CurrentVersion / ProfileList. Find the administrator profile in ProfileList. This is quite easy to do, since it ends with 500, and in the ProfileImagePath field, you need to change the path to the folder. This completes all the basic manipulations, but if you wish, you can delete the temporary account.
Method two
In addition, there is another way to change the administrator name, which will work not only locally, but also in the domain. To do this, go to the "Start" menu and find the "Run" item. This will open a new window where the gpedit.msc command is entered. Then you need to go to "Computer Configuration" and select "Windows Configuration". Here you need to find "Security Settings" and select "Local Policies". Find a special option that will allow you to carry out your plan - "Accounts: rename the administrator account." Enter the desired name and confirm. This completes the procedure for changing the administrator name.
