The password requested when the Windows operating system is loaded protects information on the computer from unauthorized access. Password protection is useful in the office, but if the computer is at home and you are the only user, the administrator password can be disabled.
Instructions
Step 1
To disable the administrator password, enter the "Control Panel" using the "Start" menu button. If your control panel has a classic look, click on the "User Accounts" icon. If it is displayed by category, look for this icon in the section of the same name. When the "User Accounts" dialog box opens, select the "Change Account" task - an additional window will open.
Step 2
In the window that opens, select the "Computer Administrator" icon by clicking on it with the left mouse button. Select Change Password from the list of tasks listed. In the upper field of the new window, enter the password with which you previously logged into the system. Leave the second field blank and click the Change Password button. Now the operating system will not ask you for a password when you boot your computer.
Step 3
If you later want to set the password again, enter the section for changing the computer Administrator account using the method described in the first and second steps. Go to the window with the input fields, enter the new password in the first field, enter the same password again in the second field so that the system makes sure that you do not forget it. The third field can be left blank. Click the Create Password button.
Step 4
The administrator password is sometimes needed not only to enter the operating system. By default, this password is also used when the screen saver file protection function is enabled (after the screen saver appears, the files can only be accessed by entering the administrator password). If you have used this feature, if you disable the administrator password, it will also be disabled. No additional action is required from you.
