Some models of modern laptops are endowed with a touchscreen display. This makes it much easier to work with a mobile PC. Unfortunately, most of these laptops are pre-installed with Windows 8.

Preparing touchpad drivers

You can install the Windows 7 operating system on almost any modern mobile computer. Check for touchpad drivers before changing OS. You can also back up your drivers using Driver Pack Solution. Download and install the specified software. This utility is included in the Sam Drivers assembly.

Start the DPS program and go to the "Backup" menu. Back up the touchpad drivers for your laptop. This will allow you to simplify the installation of the necessary files after changing the OS to Windows 7. Be sure to save the resulting backup to a disk partition where the new OS will not be installed.

If you do not want to use third-party programs, go to the website of the manufacturer of the mobile computer you are using. Find the model you want and browse the files available for download. Download touchpad drivers for your laptop. Be sure to check the version of Windows 7 that the selected files are suitable for. Drivers for x86 version may not work with 64-bit OS.

Installing Windows 7

Insert the drive that contains the Windows 7 installation files. This can be a DVD or USB drive. Restart your computer and open the BIOS menu. Find the item that displays information about boot devices. Set the priority for loading from the connected drive. If you can change the priority without entering BIOS, skip this step.

In the first window that appears, click the "Install" button. Now select the item "Full installation", because the option of updating the operating system is not suitable in this case. Examine the current state of the hard drive. Delete the partition containing the files of the current operating system. If there is an area of 100 or 300 Mb on the hard disk, delete it as well. Create a new section, select it and click Next.

Wait until the first stage of the installation of the Windows 7 operating system is completed and the laptop restarts. Reopen the BIOS menu and set the boot priority from the hard drive. Please note, if you used the quick menu to launch the program from a disk (flash drive), skip this step. Follow the further instructions in the Windows 7 installer.

Installing touchpad drivers

After completing this process, install the touchpad drivers. To do this, run the exe-file created by Driver Pack Solution, or unpack the archive downloaded from the laptop manufacturer's website.
