When buying a computer in a specialized store, there is a great chance to purchase a system unit with a preinstalled operating system. Often in Windows 7, the option "Back up data" is activated, which requires the allocation of additional disk space for your needs.
Necessary
A computer with the Windows 7 operating system installed
Instructions
Step 1
To deactivate the "Data backup" option, open the "Control Panel" and go to the "System and Security" section. In the "Administration" block, select the "Services" element. Select the item "Data archiving" and call "Properties" via the context menu. In the launch options, check the "Disabled" line.
Step 2
You must restart your computer to save your changes and verify your customizations. Open the "Start" menu, go to the "Shutdown" item. Click on the triangle on the side and select the "Restart" line. If this problem reappears, you should create a new account and check if there is the same problem, otherwise perform a clean boot of the system.
Step 3
To return to the previous settings (default), go to the "Backup and Restore" applet and click the "Configure backup" link. In the window that opens, specify the partition or directory for saving backups. In some editions of Windows 7 there is a button "Save on the network", with the help of which it is possible to save archived data to remote sources.
Step 4
It is also recommended that you choose the archiving method: "Give Windows Choice" or "Give Me Choice." In the first case, all parameters for copying will be activated in the archive, including some sometimes unnecessary libraries. In the second case, you will have to choose the necessary options personally (recommended for knowledgeable users).
Step 5
When choosing the manual mode, press the Next button to specify the parameters for saving archive copies. In the new window, check the boxes next to the required lines and click the "Save parameters and exit" button. By default, an archive copy will be created every week. To change this interval, click the "Change schedule" link.
