Gadgets in relation to a computer are called mini-applications that do not have their own "engines", but use, for example, a browser installed in the system. The result of their work is usually the appearance on the desktop of windows containing an analog clock, weather widgets, mini-games, etc. The operating system has built-in controls for gadgets, which, in particular, allow them to return to the desktop in case of disappearance.
Instructions
Step 1
The reason for the absence of gadgets on the Windows desktop may be the user accidentally turning off their display. This can also happen as a result of a malfunction of the operating system, restoring the previous settings after a "rollback" of the system, or, conversely, an "upgrade" - the installation of updated components. In this case, it is enough just to re-enable the display of gadgets. To do this, right-click the desktop background image and move the pointer over the top line of the pop-up context menu. This line - "View" - opens an additional subsection of the menu in which you need the command "Show desktop gadgets" - select it, and a check mark will appear in the line, and the gadgets will return to the desktop.
Step 2
If the steps in the previous step are not enough, use the special Windows Control Panel feature. Open the main menu of the operating system - click on the "Start" button or press any of the two Win keys. The link to launch the "Control Panel" is located in the right column of the menu - select it. Then click on the Appearance and Personalization link and find the Desktop Gadgets section. It contains several links, among which there is "Restoring desktop gadgets installed by Windows" - click on this link, and the OS will do the rest itself.
Step 3
You can get to the command for restoring gadgets "Control Panel" without launching it. Open the main menu and type in only three letters - "bastard". As a result, the built-in Windows search engine will work and provide a list of all programs and files that it associates with this word. In the "Control Panel" section of this list there will also be a link "Restoring desktop gadgets installed by Windows" - click on it with the mouse and get the same result as in the previous step.
