If the user turned on his computer and saw that the icons on the desktop were gone, then there is no need to worry. This problem is solved quite quickly and without any problems.
Quite often, users of personal computers can face one unpleasant problem - desktop icons disappear. Where this trouble comes from is unknown, but in theory we can say about malware. Most often, this phenomenon can be found when working with operating systems of the Windows family, namely Windows 7 and Windows Vista. Fortunately, there is no need to worry that all the information stored on the desktop has been deleted, because it is simply not visible.
First option
There are several solutions to this problem. For example, if icons on the desktop have disappeared, then most likely their display has been disabled. In order to return everything to its place, you need to click on an empty area of the desktop with the right mouse button. A context menu will appear, where you need to select the "Arrange icons" item and check "Show desktop icons". It is worth noting that if there is already a checkmark in front of this item, then the problem lies elsewhere and you do not need to press anything.
Second option
The second way to solve this problem is to launch a special process. The user starts the computer and sees that there is nothing on the desktop or it does not load. The first step is to launch the "Task Manager". To do this, press the key combination Ctrl + alt="Image" + Delete and press the button "Start Task Manager" in the menu that appears. In the window that appears, go to the "Applications" tab and click "New task". In the "Create a new task" field and in the "Open" item, enter the name of the process that you want to start, and enter the explorer.exe command to display shortcuts and folders. It is worth noting that sometimes an error of the form - "The explorer.exe file was not found" may appear. In this case, you need to start system restore and return to this procedure.
To run the System Restore application, you also need to create a new task from the Task Manager. The procedure is no different from the previous one, only, unlike explorer.exe,% SystemRoot% / system32 / restore / rstrui.exe is introduced. After confirmation, a special application will open. Here you need to follow the instructions until the list of days appears ("Checkpoint"). Here you need to choose the one when the labels were in place. After completing the recovery procedure, the computer must be restarted.
