Is it possible to reinstall Windows XP on Windows 7?
The Windows XP operating system was widely used in various organizations and some of them still use this system. With the advent of Windows 7, many users began to weigh the costs and benefits of moving from one operating system to another. Windows 7 is the perfect counterpart to the hopelessly outdated Windows XP that Microsoft doesn't even maintain today. Unfortunately, the transition from one operating system to another is impossible without difficulties and various restrictions. To install Windows 7, the user will first need to upgrade Windows XP to Windows Vista, and only then install Windows 7. Of course, there is another way out of this situation, which is associated with the purchase of a new computer with pre-installed Windows 7, unfortunately, a similar approach is able to "hit the wallet" hard.
In the event that the user of a personal computer does not care about the difficulties associated with the "migration" from one operating system to another, then he will need to perform a number of the following actions, after which he can already start installing Windows 7. First, you need to select and purchase an operating system and check its compatibility with the personal computer where it will be installed. Then, using Widnows Easy Transfer, you can transfer some of the data and settings installed for Windows XP.
Installing Windows 7
To install the operating system, you need to directly install the installation disc itself into the appropriate drive. After starting the installation window, select the "Immediate installation" item. In this case, the operating system will simply be updated to a new, more advanced version (in this case, to Windows 7) and a window will appear to check for important updates. After checking for updates is completed, you can proceed directly to the installation procedure. To do this, you need to click on the "Install" button and select the Custom (advanced) mode, as a result of which the OS installation procedure will begin.
In the next window, the user will be able to select the required partition for installing the operating system and click on the Next button. It is worth noting that even if the user installs Windows 7 on the same disk as the old OS, it will be saved in the Windows.old folder. After that, all the steps for installing the operating system are similar to the usual ones. The user is required to provide a name, select a country, language and keyboard layout, enter a password for the account and a hint. After that, the system will require you to enter the security key, which is written on the box with the disc. If it is entered correctly, the installation will continue and a window will open where you will need to specify the time zone and settings for installing updates. After that, the procedure itself will begin directly, and when it is completed, the user will already be working on Windows 7.
