Microsoft Word is a program for creating text documents. The functions of Word allow you to edit text and font depending on the needs of the user: change the size, color and shape of the font. By default, the document is set to automatically capitalize at the beginning of a sentence.
Instructions
Step 1
The grammatical rules of most world languages require capitalization at the beginning of a sentence, as well as to indicate proper names. To increase your typing speed, Word automatically changes the lowercase letter to the uppercase letter. However, many users of the program do not need this function, in which case it makes sense to change the program settings. To turn off automatic capitalization, open a Word document or create a new one by right-clicking the context menu and selecting New, then Create Word Text Document.
Step 2
On the top line of the document is the taskbar. Click on the "Service" button. In the context menu that opens, select the line "AutoCorrect options". Click the AutoCorrect tab. If you have a checkmark in the “Capitalize first letters of sentences” box, remove it. Click Apply and OK. The saved settings will apply to all subsequent Word documents.
Step 3
You can also cancel the automatic input of capital letters when filling out the table in the "AutoCorrect Options". In the "AutoCorrect" tab, uncheck the "Capitalize first letters of table cells" column. Confirm your actions by clicking the "Apply" and "OK" buttons.
Step 4
To remove capitalization for proper names, in the AutoCorrect menu uncheck the Replace as you type option, click Apply and OK. Now all words in the Word document will be printed with a small letter. Please note that this will be considered a spelling error. And addressing a person with the spelling of his name with a small letter will be considered disrespectful.
Step 5
If you have followed all of the above requirements, but the text is still typed in capital letters, it is possible that your keyboard is set to enter capital letters. Press the Caps Lock key. This will turn off the capital letters, and this will be confirmed by the extinguished "Caps Lock" light on the keyboard.
