If in the process of adjusting the settings of the Opera browser you are stumped or for some other reason are unable to enter the initial values, then it makes sense to return to the initial settings. Alas, it will not work to do this by pressing a single button - for some reason the manufacturers did not think about such a situation. However, there is a relatively straightforward way to do this without using the browser control system itself.
Necessary
Opera browser and file manager
Instructions
Step 1
Find the location on your computer of the file in which the browser stores its settings. In Opera, unlike other browsers, this is not difficult to do - the relevant information is displayed on a service page, which can be opened through the menu. To do this, open the "Help" section in the menu and select the lowest item in it - "About". On the page that opens, in addition to information about the browser version, operating system and copyright holders, there is also a section with the title "Paths". The first line in this section contains the full path to the operaprefs.ini file you need. To get to it, you need to open the standard file manager of the operating system. In Windows, this is File Explorer.
Step 2
Double-click the My Computer shortcut on your desktop to launch File Explorer. If the display of this icon is disabled in the settings of your OS, then the same item can be found in the main menu on the "Start" button. And you can get by by pressing the key combination WIN + E (this is the Russian letter "U"). Any of these methods will launch the standard file manager.
Step 3
Navigate to the location where the settings file is stored. The easiest way to do this is to copy the full path from the "About" page, and then paste it into the address bar of Explorer. Before pressing the Enter key and navigating to the specified address, remove the name of the operaprefs.ini file from it, otherwise the explorer will simply open the settings file in a text editor.
Step 4
Find the operaprefs.ini file in the folder and delete or rename it. This completes your work on restoring the default settings, and the browser will do the rest.
Step 5
Close and reopen Opera. On startup, the browser should load the current settings from the operaprefs.ini file. Not finding it in place, Opera will create a new file, filling it with default settings.
