The decorative frame is an important detail in the design of the image. Of course, you can always download a ready-made template and insert a photo into it. However, it's not that hard to create your own frame using Photoshop tools.

Necessary

  • - Photoshop program;
  • - image.

Instructions

Step 1

Load the picture for which you want to create a frame in Photoshop by opening the dialog box by pressing Ctrl + O or by using the Open command from the File menu.

Step 2

Create a new layer for the frame. This can be done using the hotkeys Ctrl + Shift + N or the Layer option from the New group of the Layer menu. By default, the newly created layer will be active.

Step 3

Select the tool with which you will draw the frame. To do this, click on the Brush Tool in the tool palette. Open the palette with the settings for this tool using the Brushes option from the Window menu. In the window that opens, click on the Brush Tip Shape tab and select a brush in the form of a leaf, an asterisk, or any other shape that suits your image.

Step 4

Adjust the dynamics of the brush. To do this, click on the Scattering tab and set the Scatter parameter to a value of about one hundred percent. If there is a check mark in the Both Axes checkbox, uncheck it. In the window at the bottom of the palette, you can see how the trail of the custom brush changes. You want to get a not very wide swath of individual prints.

Step 5

It would be nice if the brushprints that make up the frame were slightly different in color. To do this, click on the Color Dynamics tab and set the value of the Hue Jitter parameter to fifteen percent.

Step 6

Choose a foreground color for the frame details. To do this, click on the top of the colored rectangles in the tool palette and select the appropriate color from the palette that opens.

Step 7

Hold down the left mouse button and draw a frame around the edges of the photo. With this frame, you can cover up unnecessary details in the image.

Step 8

Apply style elements to the border layer. To do this, call the context menu by right-clicking on the layer and select the Blending Options item in it. In the window that opens, check the boxes for Drop Shadow, Inner Glow and Outer Glow. If necessary, click on the Inner Glow and Outer Glow tabs and adjust the color of the glow in them.

Step 9

Merge the layers with the Flatten Image command from the Layer menu and save the finished image with the Save As or Save for Web command from the File menu.
