No one is immune from chips. Even the newest bathroom can have such an undesirable element. Of course, there is no desire to change the bath, put an insert or enamel because of one single chip. What to do? To remove the chip, of course. Of course, you need to understand that it is not often possible to perfectly match shades in halftones, so even with the naked eye it will be noticeable where the chip was. Still, this is better than leaving everything as it is.
Necessary
- Any auto putty. You should take a tube of a small size and preferably a light color, so that the color certainly does not break through the enamel;
- Fine-grained sandpaper;
- Bath enamel;
- Abrasive polishing paste;
- Tinting paste (if you have a non-white bath);
- Construction (can be a regular) hair dryer;
- Solvent for degreasing the bath surface;
- Polishing paste and felt.
Instructions
Step 1
Sand the crack or chip to a steel color, then dry it with a hairdryer, then degrease the cleaned area with some solvent or acetone.
Step 2
Prepare the putty, apply it to the chip and let dry for about 15-30 minutes. Drying time of the putty depends on its type. After the putty dries, clean it with sandpaper until the slightest bumps disappear. It will even be better to clean the putty with a slight pressure so that it does not reach the level of the bathtub quite a bit. Then there is still enough room for the enamel. Then degrease again and dry the surface with a hair dryer.
Step 3
Next, the enamel is prepared. Take one part of the hardener and four parts of the base. Add color if necessary. Do not add much color (5-7% is enough). Cover the chip with the prepared enamel. Let the enamel dry.
Step 4
Once the enamel is dry, rub the area with fine-grained sandpaper. Then sand with polishing paste and felt. So you get rid of traces of "grains" of sandpaper and finally level the place of the chip. It's all.
