Step 1
Open the audio settings on your computer. To do this, go to the control panel and select the "Sounds and Audio Devices" menu item. In the new menu, select Configure Audio Devices. In the small window that appears on the "Audio" tab, configure the second device from the top by clicking the corresponding menu button.
Step 2
Check the add echo box, apply and save the changes. This item may not be available for some reason, especially if your microphone is built into a laptop or webcam.
Step 3
Open the sound card settings in the settings of sounds and audio devices on the control panel, if you have it built into the motherboard, the setting will be called Realtek (HD Audio in some cases). This will open a large window for configuring your audio device driver. Go to the Microphone Configuration tab and uncheck the Echo Cancellation checkbox. Go to the output devices (speakers) settings tab and check the echo settings there. They must be disabled.
Step 4
If you need to enable the add echo function in your recording software (found in standard Windows applications), open the Effects menu item and select the Add echo function. Also, some programs for editing audio recordings perform the function of adding echoes only to the voice. Pay attention to similar programs produced by Sony and Nero, they are the most efficient in handling audio processing functions.
Step 5
If you need to add echo to the microphone when using any program, open its configuration settings and in the item related to using the microphone, find the parameter you need and apply it, if available. Also, some microphones built into the webcam are configured from the driver program.
