Today you don't need to be a calligrapher to complete a document, write a letter or a story. Modern technology (computer + printer) will help make any printed work attractive and easy to read. However, if you are a beginner, all your documents are received by the same person. The reason is the lack of necessary formatting.
Instructions
Step 1
You can format the text both before typing, setting all the necessary settings at the very beginning, when creating a document, and after. If there is only one style in which you plan to make a document, then for clarity, set the settings at the beginning of work. Create settings start by choosing a font (style and size). By default, the system has fonts installed that are sufficient for creating documents. If you want to print a letter, congratulation, script …, the standard set may not be enough. In this case, you need to install it.
The font size depends on the type of document being created. In business correspondence, the recommended size is 14.
Step 2
Now we need to determine the location of the text on the page. The main text is most often placed on the "page width". In order to reduce the distance between words (to condense the text), it is necessary to enable word wrap. To do this, in the "service" menu, select the "language" - "hyphenation" item. In the window that opens, check the box "automatic hyphenation".
Step 3
After completing these steps, type the text and see what is missing. Perhaps some phrases need to be highlighted in bold or italicized, the line spacing should be increased, the heading needs to be centered and its color changed…. To do this, select the corrected pieces of text in any way and format these fragments. In the event that changes need to be made in the entire text, select the entire text (Ctr + A) and format.
Step 4
You can diversify the text field using tables, lists. To include tables in the text, go to the "table" menu. Here you can select a ready-made template, create a new one, change the table (merge cells, delete, insert, change properties). All the same functions are performed by the buttons on the toolbar (they can be added if necessary).
Step 5
To create different lists (numbered, bulleted) use the buttons of the same name. The easiest way is to type a number in the text (for example, 1. or a.), Then the text. Pressing the "numbered list" button while moving a line (Enter), the next number or letter (2 or b.) Will automatically follow. In addition, the indentation will be automatically set, the list will take on an attractive look. The "bulleted list" button works in the same way, only instead of numbers or letters a marker will appear. In order to change the type of marker or replace the numbers with letters, Roman numerals, press the corresponding button with the right mouse button and select what you need. The indents are also easy to change by moving the handles on the ruler.
Step 6
With a little experience, enable automatic formatting, it will significantly speed up your work. Experiment with macros. Don't be afraid to ruin something. If the result is not what you wanted, you can always return to the previous state (the "cancel" button).
