There are many situations where it is easier to spend a few minutes and increase the volume of the sound for a separate file than to turn the player settings each time. You can adjust the sound volume in any audio editor. Adobe Audition is fine for this purpose.

Necessary

  • - Adobe Audition program;
  • - sound file.

Instructions

Step 1

Open the recording in Adobe Audition using the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + O. You can use the Open command from the File menu. You can do it even easier by clicking on the file that needs processing, with the right mouse button and selecting the "Open with …" option in the context menu. Select Adobe Audition from the list of programs that are prompted to open the file.

Step 2

Increase the recording volume with the Normalize filter. To do this, open the filter settings window with the Normalize process command from the Amplitude group, which after a short search can be found in the Effects menu. Enter the percentage value to which you want to increase the volume in the Normalize to field. Click OK.

Step 3

Listen to the result by pressing the "Space" key. If it seems to you that the volume has not been increased enough, undo the previous action with the Ctrl + Z keyboard shortcut, reopen the Normalize filter settings window and enter a different numerical value.

Step 4

Save the recording at an increased volume. To do this, use the Save As command from the File menu. In the window that opens, select the location to save the file, enter the file name in the "File name" field.

Select the format of the file to be saved from the File Type drop-down list. If your source was in mp3 format, you will be prompted to save the modified file in the same format. Click on the Options button and select the bitrate of the saved file from the drop-down list. It is quite reasonable to save the recording at the changed volume at the same bit rate as in the original file, unless, of course, you need to reduce the file weight. The bitrate of the source file can be found using the File Info command from the File menu. The same will happen if you use the Ctrl + P keyboard shortcut. After selecting the bitrate of the file to be saved, click the OK button in the codec settings window and the Save button in the Save As command settings window.
