"Wallpaper" in computer jargon refers to the background image of the desktop in the graphical interface of the Windows operating system. The OS user can replace the default picture with his own files, of which you can find a huge number on the Internet. This procedure is very simple and can be done in several ways.
Instructions
Step 1
Hover your mouse over the picture you want to make the background image of your desktop and right-click on it. This can be done on the desktop itself, in the "Explorer", and if you are using Internet Explorer, Opera or Mozilla Firefox as a browser, then you can do it in the window of this program. In all of these applications, the context menu that appears after clicking contains an item that allows you to use the image as wallpaper. In the file manager, it is formulated as "Set as desktop background", and in browsers the text is slightly different, but the meaning remains the same.
Step 2
The latest versions of Windows allow you to create a slideshow from the wallpaper - change the background image of the desktop at specified intervals. The intervals can be set in a wide range - for example, every 5 minutes, or every day. In order for the images you add to be used in such a slideshow, they must be placed in a specific folder on the system drive. To do this, first open the "Explorer", go to the directory with the new wallpaper, select the necessary files and copy to the clipboard.
Step 3
Then go to the system drive and expand the folder where the OS is installed - by default it is called Windows. At the end of the list of directories placed in it, find and open Web, and then - Wallpaper. This folder contains pictures of the desktop, divided into categories, each of which has its own catalog - "Architecture", "Landscapes", "Nature", etc. Place the copied files in the folder of the same category as the new images or create an additional category for them.
Step 4
To use the pictures added in this way in the slideshow, open the corresponding applet "Control Panel" - right-click the background image of the desktop and select the line "Personalization" from the menu. Then click on the icon "Desktop background" in the lower right corner and in the page that opens, set the parameters of the slideshow - composition, frequency of changing wallpapers and their centering. Finally, click the "Save Changes" button.
