After booting the system, the first thing the user sees is the desktop. Its background can be either an image from the Windows collection or a custom picture. To put wallpaper on your desktop, you need to perform several steps.
Instructions
Step 1
Search on the Internet, download from a removable storage medium or create your own wallpaper in a graphic editor. Save them on the hard drive of your computer in the folder that you are not going to move, this is an important condition.
Step 2
Call the "Display" component. This can be done in several ways. The fastest is to right-click on any free area of the screen and select Properties from the drop-down menu.

If for some reason you cannot do this, open the Control Panel from the Start menu and select the Display icon in the Appearance and Themes category. A new "Display Properties" dialog box will open.
Step 4
Go to the "Desktop" tab. In the "Wallpaper" group, click the "Browse" button. A new window will open. Moving through the resources of the computer, find the folder in which your wallpaper is located and left-click on the graphic file with the background. Click the "Open" button in the window.
Step 5
The "Display Properties" dialog box is updated. You will see a new look for your desktop in the sketch. Pay attention to the "Location" field. Use the drop-down list in it to set the way you want the wallpaper to be located on the desktop.
Step 6
Stretch mode means that the new background will completely cover the screen area. If you select a photo with an inappropriate resolution, it may be distorted. If you select Center, your full size image will be positioned in the center of the screen, the rest of the area will be filled with a color that you can choose from the palette in the Color group. "Tile" means that the picture will be repeated vertically and horizontally.
Step 7
When you select the appropriate mode, save the settings with the "Apply" button and close the "Display" component with the OK button or the [x] icon in the upper right corner of the window. The new wallpaper will appear on your desktop.
