Partition Manager

Instructions

Step 1

Use Partition Manager if you need to remove or expand your local drive. Download a version of this utility designed to work with the operating system installed on your computer. Pay special attention to its type (32 or 64 bit OS).

Step 2

Install Partition Manager and restart your computer. This will allow the program to collect the necessary data about the connected hard drives and their status. Run the utility and select "Advanced user mode" from the quick access menu.

Step 3

Wait for the program to finish loading and list the existing partitions. There are two ways to expand one of your local drives. In the first case, you need to use another disk partition, and in the second, only the free part of it. Use the second method.

Step 4

Open the "Wizards" tab, go to the "Additional functions" submenu and select "Redistribute free space." Click the "Next" button and in the new window select the section that you want to expand. To do this, left-click on its graphic image. Click the Next button again.

Step 5

Now select with checkboxes one or more partitions from which you want to separate free space to expand the first volume. Click "Next". Resize the first partition based on the amount of free space on the allocated volumes. Click the Next and Finish buttons.

Step 6

To start the process of reallocating space, click the "Apply pending changes" button. If you need to delete one of the disk partitions, then select it with the right mouse button and select "Delete". After the operation is completed, this section will not be available for use until you create a new local disk.
