Step 1
Before enabling Aero, you need to make sure that this Windows desktop theme can be used on your computer. To do this, click "Start", then find the item "Computer" and click on it with the right mouse button. Select Properties from the drop-down menu.
Step 2
In the window that opens, in the "System" section, you will see the "Windows Performance Index", and on the right - its value, which was calculated by Windows. If it is at least 3, you can proceed to the next step. If the performance index is below the specified value, you will have to improve the components of your computer. Most often, replacing a video card with a more modern model or increasing the amount of RAM helps.
Step 3
When installing Windows 7, the Aero graphics scheme is selected by default, if the capabilities of the computer components allow it. It should be remembered that Aero uses a lot of resources for its work. This should be taken into account if freezes or slowdowns are observed in some applications. In this case, it is recommended to abandon this scheme.
Step 4
You can use other desktop themes that do not consume resources. If you have changed your own desktop settings or previously Aero was unavailable due to poor computer performance, and now you want to enjoy the full capabilities of Windows 7, start setting up.

To enable the Aero scheme, click "Start" - "Control Panel". In the window that opens, find "Appearance and personalization" and left-click on the item "Change theme". You will be offered a choice of several background images in different schemes. Choose the Aero scheme you like, such as Nature or Architecture.
