Instructions
Step 1
Call the desktop context menu by right-clicking on an empty space to completely disable the Aero effect and select the "Personalization" item. Select any of the themes in the "Basic (Simplified) and High Contrast Themes" group in the dialog box that opens and confirm the changes made by clicking OK. Wait for the changes to apply.
Step 2
To deactivate the Aero effect in one of the applications, open the context menu of the shortcut of the required program by clicking the right mouse button and select the "Properties" item. Select the "Compatibility" tab in the dialog box that opens and apply the check box in the "Disable desktop composition" line in the "Options" section. Save the changes by clicking the "Apply" button and confirm the execution of the selected action by clicking the OK button. Please note that this way of disabling the Aero effect cannot be applied to built-in Windows components.
Step 3
Disable the Aero Peek function separately. To do this, open the context menu of the "Taskbar" element by right-clicking and select the "Properties" item. Go to the Taskbar tab in the dialog box that opens and uncheck the Use Aero Peek for Preview row at the bottom of the window. Confirm the execution of the selected action by clicking the OK button.
Step 4
Take advantage of the option to disable the Aero Snap feature. To do this, open the main menu "Start" and go to the item "Control Panel". Expand the Ease of Access Center link and expand the Mouse Ease of Use node. Apply the checkbox in the line "Disable automatic ordering of windows when they are moved to the edge of the screen" in the group "Easy window management" and save the changes by clicking the OK button.
Step 5
Type gpedit.msc in the text field of the search bar to disable the Aero Shake function and open the context menu of the found element by right-clicking. Specify the "Run as administrator" item and open the "User Configuration" link in the opened Group Policy Editor dialog box. Expand the Administrative Templates node and navigate to the Desktop section. Apply the Enabled option for the Disable Mouse Flick Aero Shake Window Minimization policy and save your changes.
