Yandex Metrica is quite a useful tool for a webmaster. By installing a counter on your site, being the owner or administrator of a resource, you can receive maximum information regarding visits to your site and other parameters.

Instructions
Step 1
To get started, register in the Yandex mail service (yandex.ru). To do this, open the main page and click on the link "Create a mailbox". After creating an account, you will be able to access Yandex Metrica. To do this, you need to enter the following URL in the address bar - metrika.yandex.ru. A page will open allowing you to register your site in the counter system. Here you need to click on the "Get Meter" button.
Step 2
After you click on the button for receiving the counter, you will be redirected to its settings page. Here you can set goals, change the color of the counter, and make public or private access to statistics. After the counter is received, you will be provided with its code. This code must be copied, and then, create a target (see the help for the service). Once the goal is created, you can proceed to install the counter on your site.
Step 3
Open the FTP client you are using and connect to your server. Next, you need to open your site folder, which will be located in the "Public-HTML" directory. In the site folder, you need to find the footer.php file (we will not specify a specific path, since it depends on the engine used by the site).
Step 4
Why do you need a footer file? Because it is in this area of the site that the counter is located in most cases. You have the right to integrate the counter anywhere else on the page. After you open the footer.php file for editing, paste the counter code that you copied earlier into it. Save the changes in the file and on the server, and then visit your site. A hit counter will appear in the place where you integrated the metric code. To enter the metric interface, you just need to click on the counter itself.
