Enabling options in most applications usually occurs using the same type of actions. For example, in the user accounts of ICQ or Qip instant messaging services, you can configure and enable options in the same way. So, for the convenience of users, you can set the option to transfer files over the network through a direct connection. Although it is generally recommended for security reasons to transfer files through an instant messaging proxy server. You should only make adjustments to useful options when you know exactly what they are for.
Instructions
Step 1
Launch ICQ or Qip software and upload your account. The instant messaging service window will appear on the screen. In the main menu bar of this program, click on the application settings icon.
Step 2
As a result, the "Settings" window will open, where all the modifiable modes of the program operation are located. There is a set of tabs on the left side of the window. Clicking on them on the right displays the corresponding configurable parameters.
Step 3
Select the "Accounts" tab. All registered accounts in your name will be presented on the right. Select a Qip messaging account and click the "Configure" button next to it.
Step 4
In a new window of a similar form that appears, open the "Advanced" tab. On the right side of the window, information will be displayed, including information on how to transfer files. The File Transfer section contains several checkboxes for selecting the desired action. Check the box next to the box to allow file transfers using direct user connections. Clear the rest of the check boxes for this group.
Step 5
Upon completion of all settings, click the "Apply" button in the account settings window and then click the "OK" button to exit the mode. Then also click "OK" in the general application settings window. The option to send files directly will be enabled.
