Joomla is one of the most popular content management systems (CMS). It is designed to create websites of any complexity. This system is very easy to install. in its original form contains the minimum number of development tools. The latest, third version of this system is installed in a few steps.
Instructions
Step 1
Visit the official Joomla project site and download the latest system from https://www.joomla.org/download.html#j3. The system is offered for download in a packed form, it can be.tar.gz,.tar.bz2 or.zip archive. Transfer the downloaded Joomla to the server that will host your future site. If your server supports unpacking downloaded archives, you can save time by migrating Joomla in a compressed form. If the server does not support this function, unpack the archive on your computer, and then transfer the files to the server via FTP.
Step 2
To install the Joomla system, you must first create a database for it. If the server has a CPanel control panel, create a database using the MySql Database Wizard. If this is not possible, contact the hosting provider's support team. Be sure to remember the login and password to the created database, you will need them in your future work.
Step 3
Run the Joomla Installation Wizard. To do this, in the address bar of your browser, enter the path to the folder into which the archive was unpacked, for example, site.com/joomla3.
Step 4
On the Configuration page, provide a name for the site, enter a short description, and select the language for the control panel. Provide information about the site administrator (username, password, email address, etc.). Click the Next button.
Step 5
On the Database page, you will need to establish a connection between Joomla and the previously created database. In the Database Type field, select the type MySqli, in the Host Name field, specify localhost. Enter the database credentials (database name, administrator login and password) and click Next.
Step 6
If you are using Joomla for the first time and want to familiarize yourself with its capabilities, check the Install sample data checkbox on the Overview page. So along with the system, you will install demo data, on the example of which the acquaintance will take place. Click the "Install" button to start the installation.
Step 7
The system installation is completed by a message on the screen. Now click the Remove installation folder button to remove the installation folder. Joomla installation is complete.
