Intel graphics drivers enable full support for displaying graphics on a laptop or computer screen. Updating the software can improve the performance of the video card and enable the user to make additional adjustments. Updating can be done either by built-in system tools or through the Intel official website.
Updating on Windows
To update the driver by means of the system, you will need to open the "Device Manager" program built into Windows. It is accessible by right-clicking on the Computer icon in systems released after Windows 7. To access Device Manager, you can also right-click on the My Computer icon and select Properties. Among the proposed menu items, click the appropriate one. You can also use the program search in the corresponding line of the Start menu.
Go to the line "Video adapters" and find the name of your Intel graphics card. Right-click on the device and click "Properties". Select "Drivers" from the tabs offered in the window.
In the list of options, click Update. You will see a window of the update installation wizard, which will check for available driver versions and issue a corresponding notification. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation. After completing the procedure, do not forget to restart your computer. The update is complete.
Manual driver download
To manually update the system, go to the Intel official website using the browser installed on the system. In the upper part of the window, click on the "Menu" button and among the options offered, click on "Support". Select "Desktop and Notebook Support" on the right side of the menu.
On the new page, you can choose 1 of 3 options. The first option includes the ability to download a program to check the installed driver version. If you want to automatically update your Intel graphics card, click on the "Continue" button and download the proposed program. Once the download is complete, run the resulting file and follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation. Run the installed program using the shortcut on the desktop and click "Search for updates". Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the update.
If you want to manually download the driver installer, use the other two options on the screen. In the "Search for downloads" line, enter the model of your Intel graphics card, which is indicated in the documentation for your computer. You can also manually select your video card using the list on the right side of the page. After receiving the search results, click "Download" and then run the downloaded file. Follow the instructions on the screen to update the drivers for your graphics card. After the installer completes, restart your computer to apply the changes.
