Having once released a certain laptop model, the manufacturer does not forget about it. Updated driver versions are issued from time to time for the components installed in your laptop. This is done to ensure that the video card supports modern operating systems and works with the latest version of DirectX.

Step 1
First, determine the model of the video card. If you can't find the information you need in the documentation, the laptop itself, or rather, the operating system, will help you. Click the Start button, select Run, and type dxdiag in the dialog box. This operation will launch the DirectX utility and display all the data about your laptop. The DirectX utility will warn you that it will collect data about the computer, so in confirmation you just need to agree. In the window that appears, go to the "Display" tab, where the model of your video card is indicated on the right side.
Step 2
Determine the version of the video card driver. Pay attention to the Drivers area of the same window. If the driver version doesn't tell you anything, use the date. If at least two to three months have passed since the specified date, most likely the manufacturer has already released updates.
Step 3
The easiest way to find more recent drivers is to use the Windows Update Utility, located in Control Panel, under System and Security. If the operating system did not find anything useful for your video card on the Internet, open the browser and enter the device model in the line of your favorite search engine. Pay attention to which links the search engine offers you. The easiest way is to go to your laptop manufacturer's website and download the files there.
Step 4
To install the driver, unpack the archive and find the installation file. These files are called Setup and have the extension exe. Run this file and follow the instructions of the program. Restart your computer after installing the driver. Don't think of your laptop as a finished product. As you constantly find new interesting programs that make your work easier, new driver versions appear for your laptop components from time to time. Don't forget to update them.
