It often happens that the available RAM and virtual memory is not enough for comfortable work in certain applications, watching movies, launching games. However, you should know that you are not using all the system resources of your computer - the video card and processor can be "overclocked", and the virtual memory can be increased.
Instructions
Step 1
Check the system requirements for the software you need to increase system resources to run. Match the opportunities after the performance increase on your computer with the software requests.
Step 2
Open My Computer. In the space free from labels, right-click and select the last menu item - "Properties". A window with several tabs will appear before your eyes. Check out the contents of the first one - the parameters of your computer are written on it - the processor frequency, the amount of RAM, and so on. Based on the information available, draw a conclusion about how much you will have to increase the paging file of the virtual memory of the computer.
Step 3
Go to the last tab - "Advanced". There you will see several buttons, click on the one that is responsible for configuring the system performance parameters. Before your eyes, you will be presented with a list of settings that you can enable or disable to adjust the performance of your computer and customize the appearance of the system. This item refers rather to the release of a certain amount of RAM.
Step 4
Click on the "Advanced" tab. Open the setting for the very last item related to the virtual memory configuration. Check out the contents of the tab. Typically, the virtual memory paging file is selected based on system requirements.
Step 5
Select the local disk of the virtual memory paging file of your choice. Check the box to select the preset size. Enter the desired parameters based on software requirements or at your own discretion. Click the "Set" button.
Step 6
Apply the changes you made. For them to take effect, restart your computer.
