Very often, many computer users are faced with such a problem as frequent freezes, slow performance, slow loading of the PC, etc. In most cases, the problem is not worth a damn and has a fairly simple solution.
You don't need to be a professional programmer to determine the cause of a slow computer. Here are some tips that many computer users will find helpful.
1. Clean the system unit from dust. Common dust is the most common cause of brakes and freezes. Many do not even look under the cover of the system unit (SB) from the moment of purchase, but after 2-3 years a rather thick layer of dust accumulates on the boards. It is best to remove all the boards and gently dust them off with a soft brush (look in your girlfriend / wife / sister's makeup bag or buy a paint brush from office supplies). If you do not want to disassemble anything, then you can simply blow through the SB with a vacuum cleaner, switching the mode to "blowing", if there is one. But be careful! Try not to hit anything inside the tube!
2. Check your computer for viruses. At the moment, there are a huge number of viruses that "eat" the resources of the system. To solve this problem, you just need to scan the system with your antivirus. If not, you can use the free CureIt utility! from Dr. Web. In addition, I can recommend the free Avast antivirus, which has many firewalls and filters.
3. Use a program to clean the registry. These kinds of programs scan your system and clean it of temporary files left behind by other programs, as well as clean up other garbage. One of the best is TuneUp, but it is paid, but it has a 15-day trial period. There are also free ones, for example, CCleaner, free does not mean bad.
4. Try not to install games and programs on the system drive. Most programs are installed on the system drive (C:) by default. I recommend that you change the disk to something else. At first, there will be no difference, but when the C: drive is almost completely full, freezes and slowdowns will begin.
5. Observe the folder hierarchy. You shouldn't install everything in one heap at the root of the disk. Create separate folders for different types of software, for example Games for games, Program Files for programs.
6. When installing programs, be aware of what is installed with them. Many programs have the status of free, but when installing them, it is sometimes suggested to install a bunch of unnecessary things (developers need to earn somehow). Read everything carefully and uncheck what you don't need. Most of these "bonuses" immediately go into startup, and as a result - the computer takes a long time to boot when turned on.
If you follow these tips, your computer will run longer and faster.
