What to do if the computer, which has worked quite well until now, suddenly starts to react more slowly to all actions of the owner, that is, it simply “slows down”? There may be several reasons for this.
The work of programs can be slowed down by viruses. Therefore, first, it is better to check if your antivirus is working, the regularity of updates. You can check everything for free with a special utility program from "Doctor Web" called "DrWebCureit" or similar.
Too many programs running at the same time can also affect the operation of the computer. Often during installation, the program is automatically added to the startup, like ICQ, uTorrent and others. To fix this problem, go to the Start menu and click Run. A window will open in which you need to enter the msconfig command, and then click OK. Now go to the "Startup" tab. Uncheck the checkboxes from unnecessary programs, leaving "ctfmon" and your antivirus. Then click "Apply", "OK", "Restart". After the computer completes these tasks, you must tick the box so that you are not reminded of the changes made.
If the RAM is not enough, and the paging file is small, especially demanding games will slow down. Right-click on the "My Computer" icon and select "Properties". On the "Advanced" tab there is an item "Performance", where you need to select "Parameters". We return to "Advanced", under the item "Virtual memory" press the "Change" button. You need to select the drive to create the paging file, and specify the size for it. You need to set 1500-2000, to save press "OK".
When installing and uninstalling programs, many unnecessary errors and incorrect extensions appear in the registry. Removing programs does not mean that they are no longer on the computer - it just cannot be found. The processor receives unnecessary load while executing tasks.
