Instructions

Step 1

Cut a panel about 20 by 20 centimeters in size from a durable insulating material (for example, PCB or plexiglass). Drill holes in it for attaching to the body, installing the output clamps, the on / off switch, bulb holders, and fuse holders for 3, 3-volt outputs (they are not equipped with short circuit protection). The hole diameters depend on what parts you have on hand.

Step 2

Disconnect the power supply. Cut the connectors from the wires coming out of the power supply. Screw the toggle switch into the hole provided for it. Solder a green wire to one pin of any of its contact groups, and a black wire to the other pin of the same contact group. Now screw in the bulb holder. Insert a light bulb into it, designed for a voltage of 6, 3 V and a current of 0.22 A. Solder one terminal of the cartridge to the output of the toggle switch to which the black wire is connected, and to the other terminal of the same cartridge - any of the red wires. The light will not only indicate the on state of the laboratory unit, but also load the 5-volt output. Without this, in the absence of a load, the voltage on all other terminals will be slightly overestimated. The second light, designed to indicate the power on duty, turn on between the lilac wire and the output of the toggle switch, which is connected to the black wire.

Step 3

Now place the rows of output terminals on the front panel: the first row is according to the number of yellow wires, the second is according to the number of remaining red, the third is according to the number of orange wires, the fourth is according to the number of black wires remaining. Place a single clamp for the blue wire under these rows. Solder one wire of the corresponding color to each of the clips. Do not solder just the orange wires yet. Sign the rows like this: +12 V, +5 V, +3, 3 V, common. Next to the only jack connected to the blue wire, write -12 V.

Step 4

Now fit the fuse holders to match the number of orange wires. Connect the +3, 3 V clamps to these wires not directly, but through the holders. Install a 5A fuse in each of the latter.

Step 5

Secure the panel to the power supply so that none of the ventilation holes is obstructed. Turn off the toggle switch and switch on the unit itself. Apply mains voltage to the input of the power source (be sure to use a grounded outlet and cord). Turn on the switch on the unit itself - the standby lamp will light up. Turn on the toggle switch, and the lamp will light up, indicating the operating mode. When loading the unit, do not exceed the total currents indicated on the sticker on its body, as well as the total output power of the device. The current taken from each wire separately should not exceed 5 A.
