You can buy a dictaphone in any department of audio equipment. You can listen to the recording on the device itself. But it's more convenient to transfer the recording to a computer.

Step 1
The IC recorder recording can be in different formats. Some people immediately create files with the extension mp3 or ogg. Others (like Sony) have their own extension and the files need to be converted. To transfer sound, put on a special program. It is on the installation disc that should have been sold to you along with the recorder. If you bought a dictaphone hand-held without a disc, or the disc for some reason has become unusable, go to the manufacturer's website. Almost always the necessary programs can be downloaded from there.
Step 2
Read the manual of the recorder carefully. It should indicate how the files are transferred to the computer from this particular device. However, the general principles of working with digital voice recorders are approximately the same for all manufacturers. Install the software. Most programs of this type are installed in the standard way, by launching an executable file. Connect the recorder to your PC with a USB cable. Turn on the device and open the program.
Step 3
A program like Digital Voice Editor creates folders upon installation and offers to save files to them. But you can create a folder yourself, in any section of your computer convenient for you. Almost any such program has an interface consisting of several windows. In one of them you will see what is on the recorder. The other shows the folders on the computer. Select the one you need and open it with the mouse. Highlight the required file. In the top menu you will see a button with a floppy disk or Save, and most often both. By clicking on it, you will see how the file is copied to the folder that you specified for it.
Step 4
If your voice recorder records mp3 immediately, you don't need to do anything else. Objects with this extension can be opened by almost any sound editor. Files with special extensions specific only to the recorders of this manufacturer must be converted. This can be done with the same program. Open all the tabs of the top menu in a row. In one of them you will see the line "convert". Click on it. A window will appear in front of you offering several formats. Not all converters convert audio files to the most common formats. If there is no mp3 or ogg, choose, for example, wav. You can convert it to mp3 using any sound editor or converter - for example, Sound Forge
