Step 1

First, you need to create an image of the disk that contains your operating system. To do this, you need Acronis True Image. The program is paid. But there is a trial period for its use. Download the application from the Internet and install it on your computer hard drive. After installation, restart your computer.

Step 2

Start Acronis True Image. In the program menu, find the item "Create a bootable disk". Create a bootable disk as prompted by the wizard. After that, you can proceed to the procedure for creating an image of the system disk. Click "Create archive" and specify your system drive. After completing this procedure, an archive file will be created.

Step 3

After that, you need to prepare a partition to which the operating system will be transferred. This section should be completely clean. You will need to format it.

Step 4

Next, insert the boot disk that you created in the beginning into the optical drive of your computer. Reboot your PC. Immediately after the system starts to start, press the F8 button. This will take you to the BOOT menu. Sometimes there can be other alternatives to this key, you can learn more about this from the instructions for your motherboard. In this menu, select your drive and press Enter. After a few seconds, press any key. The disk is activated.

Step 5

Then select Acronis True, then - "Recover data" and "Recover data from archive". Select the archive that was created earlier. Then you can select the partition to which the operating system will be restored. Wait for the file transfer operation to complete. The computer will then restart. Wait until the system is fully loaded. Thus, it will be restored to a different drive. You can delete old operating system files.
