Step 1
Before sharing WiFi from a laptop, you need to make sure that the device has a built-in WiFi module. You can find out about this from its technical characteristics. Next, go to the "Device Manager" through the Windows Control Panel. On the network adapters tab, there must be an active device, in the name of which the Wireless Adapter or Wi-Fi appears. If this device is available but does not have a driver, download and install it from the Internet.

Move the cursor to the lower right corner of the screen and in the system tray, where the date and clock are located, find the Internet connection icon. Click on it and then select "Network Control Center …". Proceed to setting up a new connection. In the wireless network settings window, select the "Computer-to-Computer" connection and click "Next". In the window that appears, fill in the proposed fields.

Set any network name, specify WPA2-personal as the security type, and come up with a security key - the password by which other devices will connect via Wi-Fi. After filling in the data, save it and complete the setup by activating Internet Sharing. This way you can configure and share Wi-Fi from a laptop on Windows 7, 8 and 10.

Go to the "Network and Sharing Center" and open the section for advanced sharing options. Check the box next to Enable. Thanks to this, other members of the group will also have access to various files and other resources on the computer.

To successfully distribute WiFi from a laptop, an active network connection is required on the main device, that is, on the same laptop. This means that there is an agreement with the provider and a dedicated line to the apartment. The line cable, in turn, is connected to the laptop. It is also necessary to create an appropriate connection to the network in the network control center by entering the login and password issued by the provider. Thus, through the laptop itself, you can access the Internet using a wired method, and from other devices - wirelessly via Wi-Fi.
Step 6
Connect the desired device to Wi-Fi. To do this, activate the wireless connection in its network settings and wait until the search for available connections is completed. In the list that appears, select the name of the Wi-Fi connection you created and enter the password you thought up earlier. Now you can use the Internet on your device wirelessly.
