Files with the.iso extension are called disk images. They store the entire structure and content of a CD, be it an installation file, music tracks, or a DVD movie. You can play the.iso file using special software.

Instructions

Step 1

To play a file with the.iso extension, you need a special utility - Daemon Tools. This program is designed to emulate a virtual CD-drive, in which the disk image is subsequently mounted. Daemon Tools is distributed in two distributions - paid and free. For playing iso files at home, the functions of the free version will be enough. You can download it from the official website at the link https://www.daemon-tools.cc/rus/home. Install the program and then restart your computer. During installation, disable the installation of ad modules that may be embedded in your browser and operating system

Step 2

After installation, Daemon Tools automatically enters Windows startup and starts running in the background when the system boots. The application icon will be in the lower right corner of the screen next to the system clock (in the tray). To open the program settings, right-click on it and select the "Emulation" button in the context menu. After that, click on the line "All options are enabled", which is in the drop-down menu. Now a virtual disk will appear in the system, or several disks that will be visible in all file managers.

Step 3

To play the.iso file, left-click on the icon on the item like "Drive 0: [X:] Empty". After that, open the disk image file in the opened Windows Explorer window.

Go to "My Computer" and make sure that one of the virtual drives is now named after the disk image. Double click on its icon. As a result of this, the virtual disk will either open as a regular CD after autorun. Now you can play the ISO file like a regular CD.
