It doesn't matter so much whether you are worried about someone using your computer without your knowledge, or just don't remember exactly what time you went to bed after a prolonged raid in an online game - in any case, the system logs will help determine the time to shutdown your computer. Usually, you don't need special rights to access them.
Instructions
Step 1
To begin with, consider the operating systems of the windows family. Regardless of which version you have: XP, Vista or Seven - the logging tools and access to them have remained unchanged. You just need to go to Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer. In the window that opens, you will see a detailed log of all important events from the point of view of the system: power on and off, hibernation, system update, etc.
Step 2
If the usual event log kept by the system is not enough for you, you can use additional software. Programs such as Aida, Everest or HMCW (How Much Computer Works) will help you complete the task. The latter is especially interesting in the sense that it allows you to get the most detailed information about the operating mode of the system: it works in the background and keeps detailed statistics on the time spent at the computer.
Step 3
Other operating systems also have their own means of obtaining information about shutting down the computer. For example, on Linux, you can use the last command for this. To do this, just open a terminal and enter a command with the required key: - last reboot - displays a line with the date and time of the last reboot, - last shutdown - information about the last shutdown of the computer, - last -x - displays records of changes in the runlevel: changes in different modes of nutrition and change of users.
