Step 1
If you accidentally delete important files from your USB drive, never write new information to it. Safely remove the device and set it aside for a while. Download and install the Ontrack Easy Recovery software. It is better to use the sixth or higher version of the utility.
Step 2
Connect the USB stick to your computer and run the program. Open the Data Recovery menu and select Deleted Recovery. After a new menu appears, select the desired flash card on the left side of it. Check the box next to Complete Scan. Complete the File Filter field. Select the suggested templates or enter the names of the file types yourself.
Step 3
Click the Next button. After that, the process of scanning the specified flash card will start. It will take a little time, because flash drives have a relatively small amount of memory. After scanning is complete, a list of found files will be generated. Check the boxes next to the ones you want to restore.
Step 4
Click the "Next" button and select a folder to recover files. It is better to use directories located on your hard drive for this. Click the "Save" button and wait for the program to finish.
Step 5
Please be aware that some files may be recovered with errors. This is because some clusters may have been overwritten after deleting files. Return to the main menu of Easy Recovery and select "File Repair". The utility used successfully works only with office documents and archives. Select the files you want to restore the integrity of and click the "Next" button. Check the quality of the recovered data.
