The first option is to erase the message history. This can be done by selecting the "Tools" item in the menu, then go to the settings, select "Chats and SMS", open additional settings and click the "Clear history" button.
This will help keep your personal correspondence secret from any ill-wishers for some time, long enough to change your e-mail address and other data. But before erasing all messages, you need to think: if the consequences of deleting the correspondence are worse for you than if someone can see your messages, then it is better to skip this option.
A more reliable way is to set a new email address as the main one. For guaranteed protection, you need to create another e-mail, which should not be associated in any way with the current mail. After that, you need to go to the official Skype website and change the main email address to the one you just created.
In addition, you must never use this address, share it with someone, or register with it on other sites. It must be anonymous and only used for Skype - otherwise the "magic" will not work.
If you use gmail, then there is another good trump card - two-step email authentication. Even if someone finds out your password from Skype, they will not be able to access your mail without a confirmation code, since the code only comes to the account owner's mobile phone.
