EXE executable files are used to run programs and various applications in the Windows environment. EXE is a closed file for editing, which requires specialized programs - resource editors or decompilers - to extract data.

Step 1
To modify the EXE using the resource editors, install the required software first. Among the most effective utilities for working with files with the.exe extension, PE Explorer is worth noting. Download the utility from the developer's official website and install it by running the resulting executable file and following the instructions on the screen.
Step 2
Open the program through the shortcut created after installation on the desktop or in the Start menu. An editor window will appear in front of you, into which you will need to import the EXE file. Click File - Open to select the executable document from which you want to extract text.

The left pane will display a list of resources available in the executable. The necessary content will be displayed in the right part of the window - graphics, text or encrypted code in HEX format. The program elements will be displayed in a similar way to the running application.
Step 4
All text found in the program can be selected and saved on the right side of the window. If you wish, you can also import the desired images in the same formats in which they are presented in the program.
Step 5
Moving through the file structure, find the text you need and the documents you need to copy. They can be saved using standard tools by right-clicking and selecting the appropriate save or copy option. After saving the text you want, you can close the program.
