The D-Link company is engaged in the production of various network equipment. Their devices are ideal for creating home and office wired and Wi-Fi networks of various sizes.
Necessary
- - router;
- - network cables.
Instructions
Step 1
First, choose the right equipment with which you will create a local network. To do this, specify the interface for connecting to the Internet channel. Do not forget to find out the available modes of the wireless channel.
Step 2
Purchase your chosen router. Unpack the device and place it in an accessible location. Remember that you will have to connect desktop computers to it. Make these connections using RJ45 network cables. For this, the routers have LAN interfaces.
Step 3
Connect the provider's cable to the router. If you are using a leased line, connect through the WAN port. When working with an ADSL channel, connect the cable to the DSL port of the equipment through a splitter. Turn on one of the computers connected to the network device.
Step 4
Launch your internet browser. Enter 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 in its URL string (depending on the specific model). Fill out the authorization form by entering admin on both lines. Click the Login button.
Step 5
Go to the Internet Connection Setup menu. Follow the step-by-step menu to quickly set up your Internet connection. Enter only those parameters that you are absolutely sure of the correctness.
Step 6
Click the Save Settings button to save the parameters of the router. Reboot the hardware. Launch its interface again. Select the Status tab. Make sure the router is connected to the provider's server.
Step 7
Open the Setup menu and navigate to Wireless Settings. Open the Manual Wireless Network Setup submenu.
Step 8
Fill in the table that opens. Check if the entered parameters are correct and click the Save Settings button. Reboot the router with any available means. After booting up the device, connect your mobile computers to it.
Step 9
Disable the built-in Firewall if laptops or desktops are not able to access the Internet.
