You can check the printer cartridge for operability even before installing it in the printer. Such a concept as "footprint" will help determine the condition of the cartridge, as it means the mark left by the cartridge on a completely dry and clean napkin. This trace will allow you to check the cartridge, both before refueling and after it.
Necessary
- - cartridge;
- - toner;
- - clean dry wipes;
- - Printer.
Instructions
Step 1
First, if the cartridge is in the printer, gently pull it out. Next, on a flat hard surface, put several napkins (4-5 pcs.) In one layer. These wipes are needed for two reasons. Firstly, a trace from the cartridge will be applied to them, and secondly, they still represent a means of protecting the cartridge, or rather, its nozzle plate from mechanical damage.
Step 2
Press the cartridge gently against the surface of the wipes for 1 second. Remove the cartridge and examine the resulting print. A functional black cartridge will leave a solid, continuous black line. A photo cartridge or color model will leave lines of different colors parallel to each other. If the ink in the cartridge is dry, then to obtain a print, immerse its "nose" in a special cleaning liquid for ten minutes and repeat the procedure.
Step 3
Check the toner cartridge with the printer by printing a test sheet. In normal operation, the image on the sheet should be clear, well visible, and free of ink streaks and dirt.
